What a day! We picked the second cherry tree.

We saw a yield of three kilos. After picking off the ones that are too damaged to use we will probably loose another 250 (or so) grams (about 1/2 Lb). A lot (probably about one or so kilos) were left on the tree for the birds. since they were damaged. Had we picked when we should have, about a week ago, we would probably have harvested about 4 kilos of useable fruit.

The lily beds continue their show. Neighbours stopped, today, to admire the display of colour. That's a lot of fun too!

Tomatoes are growing - we planted organic tomatoes, romas and cherry tomatoes. We can see formed fruit on all varieties. There are no bell pepper flowers yet. Once again we started the seed a little late but we're still hopeful to have them fruit. Herbs are abundant and the sunflowers - those things come back on their own every year now - showed their first flower.

In the back yard, we picked our first black raspberries

It's true - we picked only four berries today but there are a few more on the bush ... and it is only the first year!

After an abundance of kiwi flowers, the vine now shows only a few fruit. We're hoping we'll see them ripen but it's hard to be too optimistic. Kiwi is not native and it was a new variety of vine (not needing a male and female to fruit). We still continue to hope the kiwi experiment yields positive results.
