July 7, 2008
With cherry season not quite over, the lawn is full and lush.
Picking of the second cherry tree is planned for this week. It will be interesting to see what the yield will be (and it will be posted here as an update).
What is most exciting, today, is that July is Lily month.
This is the most colourful year we've experienced yet. We added, last year, a
few varieties of cone flowers knowing they are supposed to last a little later
into the summer than lilies but they did come up earlier than we expected -
which is just fine with us. This year shows real signs of the flower bed having
set in - absolutely rich with colour.
On the near left apples hang from the tree. It is filled, this year, with granny smiths. There are plenty of macs and we are being treated to a few northern spy for the first time. The tomatoes are in full flower and the peach tree looks like it will give us a record year.
Simply put, the front lawn looks better than it ever has.
