Well, there's no doubt. We're in for a white Christmas this year.

Big job! Over an hour of cleaning and then we went out at 9:30 in the evening to scrape down the sidewalks and driveway after the bit of blowing snow and flurries that just put a coat down after the initial cleaning earlier in the day.

Tomorrow we'll move the cars to the front and get rid of the rest of the snow left on and around the cars. By 11:00 at night, we'd had quite enough shovelling for the day besides, leaving a bit of exercise for the next day isn't such a bad thing.

The silly apple tree ... leaves continue to hang on dropping a few at a time until, as usual, spring sets in and the last leaves at the top finally fall away making way for new growth.

As usual, the buds on the magnolia have set. Come May the show we know so well will be back in its full glory). Fortunately, winters in this part of Ontario are fairly short. We can anticipate seeing lawn again by early March or, if spring is late, by mid to late April.

When all is said and done, this can only be really good for our trees. The only concern we have is that our strawberry plants got pretty beaten up, last summer, by dry weather and insect (ants and wasps)

Anticipated (outdoor) tasks for winter include pruning the peach tree (probably in February) and cutting down the raspberries and blackberries. We will probably prune the cherry and apple trees a little closer to spring.
