This is the earliest we've seen real snow here yet ... it came down in the amount of, about, 10 cm. It was dense but it moved fairly easily anyhow. The wonder is if it will stay. We've not seen such accumulation so early since we moved here.

You will notice snow on the windows of the cars. We reasoned if the expected rain froze fast it would be easier to crack that crusty surface and then wipe the remaining snow away ... but I now doubt this strategy.

The greenery (the bean plants) by the walk have still not been cut down. Their green continued to colour that corner and we were leaving it for as long as it made that little contribution. Now we'll wait 'til it's nice and the snow is gone (probably during the week) and cut it away for the season. This is a different kind of autumn.

While we continue to forge ahead with projects (ie, drywalling in the bathroom in the basement is almost complete and the floor's in) there is nothing major planned right now. We will try to squeeze one more winter out of the water heater (though we may loose on this gamble).

And now for today's cooking tip(:-]):

This may look like a pizza stone to you but to us it's a lot more! If you've brought home some eggrolls and they're cold, this is the best way to heat 'em up. This, of course, means they are equally perfect for reheating samosas (not cooking them). Like eggrolls, they should be deep-fried. Then, you just wipe the oil off the surface of the stone. It's great for reheating all kinds of things, like dampen a bagel and refresh it on the stone ... or a roll, or ... we made breadsticks on it but you can drop an instant pita-pizza on it or you can ... reheat pizza (Eh? Eeeeh?) not to speak of actually making pizza on it.
