What there is to be said about this spring is pretty easy: "It's early!". The irises and crocuses have run their course and, as may be expected, with these early flowers came our all important pollinators, the bees. They're spreading nicely but not out of control. They made a delightful show of colour early in the year with hyacinth hot on their heels. Hyacinth are now lingering with the earliest bloomers now cut from the colour show. Grape hyacinth are still in full colour as the first two daffodils have run their course. Still, many are open and many more have yet to show themselves. As the daffodils show their colours about half the tulips have opened displaying a range of colours from white to yellow ... to pinks, reds and purples. This year has been so kind we've seen the volumes of flowers at least doubled. What a show! The other treat this year is the abundance of fruit blossoms.

With the cherries and peach tree in full bloom, only the apple is yet to show all its colours with only a few apple blossoms open today.

The back yard is having a wonderful, early start to the season as well.

The magnolias are just stunning this year! The raspberries have already begun to bud. One brussel sprouts plant survived the winter so we can assume we'll see a nice crop from that plant this year.
